I have to wear a shoe with my new tattoo, what should I do?

On Thursday I got a tattoo on the entire top of my foot, I have to wear a shoe tonight and wondering if I should slab it with a&d then cover it with seran wrap when put a sock over all of that. It still is discomforting to walk...
