Why do atheist hate the Spirit of life and therefore life period?

Atheist experience depression, suicidal tendencies, drug abuse, and other addiction in which they gratify and entertain their lust all in attempt to escape reality? They lack hope and express their hopelessness with anger and persecution of those who seek healing and the conquering nature of the Spirit over the flesh. They are unable to take responsibility for the actions and control their self.
